Tutorial

Mr Kick Home

Whereas the Users Manual offers you the most recent information on specific features and settings of Mr. Kick this tutorial is intended to lead you through some general setups step by step. We'll not go into detail with each setting but merely show you the options available.

If you have installed Mr. Kick (recommended) the discussed setups are available as configuration files ready to load from the Cfg\Tutorial directory. The names of these files will be given where relevant in the text. They may be used as templates for your own setups.

Lessons Index

Below is an index of the lessons (or templates) that are available.

We start out from a very simple setup and work our way to the more advanced stuff. For a first-time user it is recommended to go through the lessons from the top, reading carefully the most relevant ones and still skimming the rest.

  1. The Basic Setup: Simple stimulus-response measurement, e.g. the H-reflex.
  2. Input/output relation: Stimulus-response classification and Y-analysis, e.g. the M-H-reflex relation.
  3. Analog output control: Stimulus-response measurement where stimulus is controlled through analog output, e.g. the stretch reflex.
  4. External trigger: Stimulation and data acquisition trigged from an external source, digital or analog.
  5. Delayed stimulation/acquisition: Stimulation and/or data acquisition delayed relative to trigger.
  6. Conditioning: Conditioning stimulation w. varying time interval.
  7. 2D-Classification: Combined conditioning and stimulus-response (lesson 6 and 3).

Note: All examples are supplied for illustrative purposes only. They may - or may not - resemble (simplified) experiments carried out at SMI, Aalborg University!
