What's New

  • This page is not up-to-date!
  • Intended for Windows 7+..
  • Still To Do.

Version 2.9

  • First vs. III preview, made available 111028.
  • Major goal has been to make it Windows 7 compatible.
  • The Display window has been completely re-build supporting up to 20 sub-displays (graphs; depending on screen resolution) with individual display plug-ins (the default, TimeSignalGraphWithCursorAnalysis, is equivalent to the classic display. Note: To change X and Y scaling mode right-click the individual graph and select AutoScale X or Scale Y).
  • The rest of the program has only been subject to minor changes besides the recompilation to a much newer version of LabVIEW.

Version 2.9.+

  • For demo purpose only (so far): Each graph element offers exchangable plug-ins. Right-click the graph and select plug-in from the menu under Display Plug-In. (2.9.0c, 111101)
  • Cursor related analysis in each graph: Excel export re-established (Xl-button). Note: Excel must be started via File menu first. (2.9.0d, 111104)
  • Two new display plug-ins (real ones, not just for demo): TimeSignal2ClassCompareGraph and NmbSweepsInClass2dColor (2.9.1, 111110)
  • Baseline / zero cossing now in Cursor related analysis (2.9.1a, 111123)
  • Support for more than eight differential AI channels, eg. on USB-6229-BNC. This also includes a light re-design of the Analog Input SetUp dialog. (2.9.2, 111202)
  • Introduced +PlugInSelector display plug-in. By default TimeSignalGraphWithCursorAnalysis is only loaded for first four sub-displays, +PlugInSelector for all others (2.9.2a, 111205).
  • Remember Display window position and loaded Plug-Ins from session to session (2.9.2b, 111208).
  • New display plug-in, XsweepYanalysisScatterPlot, shows all Y-analysis results in one (swp,Y)-scatter plot. The display also includes in big letters (visible at distance) either the present Y-analysis or the mean value in the present class. Y-analysis is specified in the Settings –> Classification dialog, and is available even when classification is turned off! (2.9.2c, 111213).
  • Display plug-in NmbSweepsInClass2dColor updated with Sums (2.9.2d, 111220)
  • Cursor position in graphs in SuperImposed View modules updated to avoid space consuming and non-intuitive cursor legend (2.9.3, 120117)
  • Excel export, Save As: Repaired (but major overhaul still pending; 2.9.3a, 120117).
  • Display plug-in TimeSignalSubsweepThresholdTrigd added: Cuts a sweep into sub-sweeps based on a threshold and displays sub-sweeps above each other (2.9.4, 120316); alternative layout TimeSignalSubsweepThresholdTrigd2 added (2.9.4a, 120319).
  • Cursors removed from Continuous Acquisition module (2.9.4b, 120320).
  • Save and Load Plug-In (PI) set, ie. the set of display plug-ins active in the Display window. So far available via two buttons; will be moved to menu in the future (2.9.5, 120322).
  • Active Channels list in main program window: New layout. May be replaced by a display plug-in in the future (2.9.5, 120323).

Bugs and fixes

Please report any malfunction to KnL.

  • Excel export, various features: The communication with Excel needs major overhaul.
  • ≤2.9.2: Class selector range in TimeSignal2ClassCompareGraph display plug-in was not set at start up (Fixed 2.9.2a, 111205).
  • ≤2.9.2: Class display does not update correctly when Main or Sub > -1 and raw/preprocessed data is shown (Fixed 2.9.2a, 111205).
  • ≤2.9.2a: New doesn't clear data display.
  • Cut Cont. into Sweeps: No trigger channel available - not fixed, but seems to work in 2.9.4a!
  • Free Running Scope should be stopped (alt. auto restarted) when eg. Analog Input settings are changed. Otherwise channels may display wrong data.

Behind the scenes

This section is only of interest to the technically minded...

The present version is based on LabVIEW 2011 - a big step from the previous version developed in LabVIEW 7.1. It is linked with NI-DAQmx 9.3.
